Job summary

Radford University is seeking a Director for the Military Resource Center to lead, develop, and evaluate services and programs for veteran and military-affiliated students. The role oversees staff and student workers, manages the MRC budget, and fosters partnerships across the university.

The Director will coordinate policy development, strategic planning, and community outreach while ensuring accessible advocacy and support for student veterans, with emphasis on collaboration and inclusive

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with military resources and benefits for veterans and military-affiliated students.
• Advanced project planning and program implementation and management abilities.
• Fiscal management experience.
• Ability to hire, train, evaluate and supervise professional staff.
• Develop advisory relationships with student veterans and dependents.
• Foster partnerships and collaborative work environment.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with university software and general computer use.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Evenings and weekends availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, implement and evaluate MRC services and programs.
• Recruit, train and supervise veteran/work-study students.
• Manage MRC budget and resources effectively.
• Provide services, support and advocacy for veterans and military-affiliated students.
• Develop policies and strategic plans for the MRC.
• Collaborate with faculty and other constituencies; engage in community outreach and education.
