Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Director, Product Management and Design to lead the Manufacturing Execution and Production Planning systems on the ground and in the sky. You will direct a multi-disciplinary team, including product managers and UX designers, and forward-deploy to the factory floor where rockets, engines and satellites are built.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of product and software experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing teams.
• Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing or production planning domains, helping manufacturing leaders solve problems through software.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs, balance competing priorities, and deliver under schedule and budget constraints.
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical topics to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to influence executives and drive complex decisions, including those in fields different from your own.
• Proficiency with AI harnesses and coding tools.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, roadmap, and priorities for Blue Origin's Manufacturing Execution (MES) and Production Planning systems.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of product managers and UX design.
• Champion a culture of customer/user focus, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing and planning domains.
• Obsess over results and impact, not just software delivery.
• Live on the factory floor in some weeks, solving problems alongside your team and your manufacturing operations partners.
• Apply and sharpen your AI skills, both to deliver immediate results and to improve our judgment and thinking.
• Develop incredible partnerships with your peer directors and VPs across software engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and Blue Origin's business units like New Glenn.
