Position: Director, Medical Strategy

Day One Biopharmaceuticals is an emerging, mission-driven drug development company focused on pediatric oncology treatments, with the goal of expanding to all ages. For more information, visit our website.

Position Summary

The Director of Medical Strategy will lead the Medical Affairs team, driving strategic development and execution supporting the development and commercialization of OJEMDATM. This role involves leading core initiatives, contributing to brand planning, and sitting on the brand team. It reports to the Vice President, Medical Affairs, and may be fully remote with travel (20-30%) for conferences and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop Medical Affairs Strategy in collaboration with the VP.
  2. Represent Medical Affairs on the brand team, aligning strategies.
  3. Lead the scientific communication platform and external messaging.
  4. Oversee creation of scientific exchange materials (SRLs, FAQs, MSL materials).
  5. Develop and implement KOL engagement plans and insights gathering.
  6. Lead advisory board activities and synthesize insights from various sources.
  7. Manage congress strategies and training of MSLs.
  8. Address regulatory review escalations.
  9. Manage and develop Medical Affairs team members.
  10. Ensure compliance with standards and stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications

  1. Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD).
  2. 10+ years in Medical Affairs, with 5+ in oncology.
  3. Leadership experience in Medical Affairs, including launches.
  4. Proven skills in scientific communication, evidence strategy, and KOL engagement.
  5. Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  6. Deep understanding of US healthcare, oncology landscape, and regulations.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Knowledge of medical content development and congress planning.
