Job summary

CareDx is seeking a Medical Laboratory Director - CLIA Laboratory to provide clinical, scientific, regulatory, and administrative leadership for high-complexity CLIA laboratory operations in Waltham, MA. The Director ensures quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of lab results to support patient care.

The role oversees testing processes, interpretation of results, and physician consultations, partnering with Laboratory Operations on staffing, budgeting, and technology evaluation to drive

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology)
• MD/DO with eligibility to hold MA and NC medical licenses preferred
• ABCC/ABMGG/ABB certification strongly desired
• ABP certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, scientific, regulatory, and administrative oversight for high-complexity CLIA laboratory testing services.
• Ensure testing systems comply with CLIA, CAP, NY State CLEP, and other regulatory bodies.
• Interpret laboratory results and provide consultation to physicians and healthcare providers.
• Lead quality assurance and corrective actions to maintain high analytical standards.
• Oversee proficiency testing and documentation of remedial actions when deviations occur.
• Collaborate with Laboratory Operations and cross-functional teams on staffing, budgeting, and technology evaluation.
