Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Director of Assessment and Evaluation to manage undergraduate medical education assessment, data governance, and program improvement. You will work with Admissions, Curricular Affairs, Student Affairs and others to strengthen assessment tools and processes.

You will lead a team, oversee instrument development (exams, rubrics, surveys), and guide LCME initiatives with a focus on data-driven decision making and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in a related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of progressive experience in assessment and evaluation.
• Knowledge of medical learner assessment and program evaluation.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis and research design.
• Strong management, organizational, and staff-supervision skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to use statistical software (SAS, SPSS, Atlas).
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the collection and management of academic data for planning and improvement.
• Ensure data integrity, governance, and accessibility for assessment datasets.
• Analyze and disseminate data to leadership, faculty, medical education committee, and students.
• Monitor formative and summative assessment methods.
• Guide faculty on best practices for learner assessment.
• Oversee development of medical science and clinical learning assessment strategies.
• Design program evaluation frameworks to assess curricular effectiveness.
• Direct initiatives to improve assessment and evaluation strategies.
• Lead the curriculum team in assessment instrument development.
• Support data reporting requirements for the Morchand Center
• Supervise staff in the assessment and evaluation team
• Guide broader Department of Medical Education assessment projects
• Engage in educational research and scholarship
• Lead assessment and evaluation work for LCME initiatives
