Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals seeks a Director, Content Development to lead medical content creation and scientific exchange activities within Medical Affairs. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure accuracy of materials, and provide expert scientific guidance for internal stakeholders.

You will oversee literature evaluation, data interpretation, and communications that support strategic decisions while aligning with regulatory requirements and brand strategies.

Qualifications

• PharmD, PhD, or MD in a scientific discipline or related field required.
• 7+ years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• 5+ years of experience in Scientific Communications, Medical Information, or related medical content functions.
• Experience developing medical content to support scientific exchange activities.
• Experience participating in Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) and Medical Review Committee (MRC) review processes.
• Experience conducting literature searches, critically evaluating scientific literature, and applying drug information principles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret scientific data and translate findings into clear, medically accurate communications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to development of medical content for scientific exchange (e.g. slide decks, medical booth content, digital enhancements).
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop medical content management plans.
• Review corporate affairs, investor relations, commercial and medical materials for scientific accuracy.
• Coordinate with Medical Affairs and vendors for development, review and approval of medical materials; provide guidance to MLR and MRC teams.
• Independently evaluate literature, interpret complex data, write effectively, articulate information to varied audiences, and negotiate with cross-functional counterparts.
• Prioritize and allocate resources and foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Maintain expert understanding of product knowledge, disease states, literature, guidelines, competitor information, and brand strategies.
