ePlus is seeking a Director of Materials Management to provide executive leadership over Configuration, Warehouse, Inventory Management and Disposition in Minnesota. You will drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth while aligning with corporate objectives.

You will partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, HR and IT to develop scalable processes, manage P&L, and lead cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations, materials management, or related operational leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience managing multiple functional teams and leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibilities and driving operational profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, transportation, logistics, supply chain systems, and operational best practices.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, sales organizations, and key customers.
  • Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis skills.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require, roughly 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for Configuration, Warehouse, Inventory Management, and Disposition services locally to MN.
  • Ensure daily operational performance meets established productivity, quality, and customer service objectives.
  • Oversee inventory management programs, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy.
  • Establish operational performance metrics and reporting processes to measure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, automation, quality assurance, and process standardization.
  • Ensure compliance with customer SLAs, contractual obligations, and internal operating procedures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize system configurations, workflow design, and operational processes.
  • Own and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Materials Management operations.
  • Lead facility expansion, consolidation, and relocation initiatives as required.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and operational governance standards are maintained across all facilities.

Overview

As the Director of Materials Management, you will provide executive leadership for the Company's Configuration, Warehouse, Inventory Management, and Disposition operations. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, profitability, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth across all Materials Management functions. This role will lead the development of scalable processes, resource planning strategies, and service offerings while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and customer expectations. You will serve as a key partner to Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and IT leadership to deliver innovative solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Your Impact

The essential functions of this position include:

Sales & Business Development
  • Conduct customer and prospect meetings to present Materials Management service offerings and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Partner with Sales teams to support business development efforts and strategic customer opportunities.
  • Develop solutions and responses for RFP opportunities.
  • Review and approve RFP responses, pricing models, statements of work, and service proposals.
  • Provide cost inputs and operational assumptions to support opportunity pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop and maintain sales collateral and promote Materials Management capabilities.
  • Support strategic customer presentations and executive-level business reviews.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Maintain overall P&L responsibility for all materials management related services
  • Develop annual operating plans, department budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions to achieve revenue, margin, and expense objectives.
  • Forecast workload and resource requirements across Configuration, Warehouse, Inventory, and Disposition teams.
  • Direct workforce planning efforts to ensure staffing aligns with customer demand, seasonal fluctuations, and business growth.
  • Oversee hiring plans, requisitions, organizational design, and talent development initiatives.
  • Forecast facility capacity requirements and determine utilization of third-party logistics (3PL) providers as needed.
  • Oversee team reviewing material purchases and management of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Review and approve significant customer billings, change orders, and operational expenditures.
  • Ensure freight audits are completed and transportation costs are accurately captured and reported.
Operations Leadership
  • Provide executive oversight of Configuration, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management, and Disposition services locally to MN.

Vendor & Customer Management
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for customer operational issues and service concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers and business partners.
  • Oversee relationships with parcel, LTL, freight, warehouse, recycling, and remarketing vendors.
  • Lead contract negotiations with transportation and logistics providers, including FedEx, UPS, and other strategic partners.
  • Serve as the primary executive contact for customer audits related to Materials Management operations.
  • Conduct executive business reviews with key customers and vendors to ensure alignment and performance expectations are achieved.
Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to managers and teams across all Materials Management functions.
  • Build a high-performing organization through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that support retention, development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to support business growth and evolving customer requirements.

Position Specifics

The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $190,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure includes variable pay through commissions based on individual sales performance. This means your earning potential can substantially increase based on your sales achievements.
