Job summary

EOG Resources in Houston seeks a senior commercial professional to evaluate and negotiate terms for gathering, transportation, and NGL contracts, including Y-Grade and NGL purchases, sales, and storage.

You will ensure accurate entry in Allegro, analyze market fundamentals, and coordinate with divisions to align pricing, measurements, and commitments. Travel may be required; MBA is a plus; ten years energy experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field, engineering or energy management preferred.
  • MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and negotiate commercial terms and operational conditions for NGL contracts (gathering, transportation, fractionation, purchase).
  • Ensure accurate entry of executed deals into Allegro and align terms with confirmations and mark-to-market reporting.
  • Analyze market fundamentals and arbitrage opportunities to inform commercial decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external customers on data, pricing, and commitments.
  • Develop and maintain models to support Midstream and Marketing needs.

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and recommend commercial terms and operational conditions for gathering transportation, fractionation, and purchase contracts for NGLs
    • Y-Grade Contract
    • NGL Purchase/Sales/Storage
    • Exchange Agreements
    • NGL/LPG Exports, preferred
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of executed deals into internal systems (Allegro), maintaining alignment between commercial terms, confirmations, and any necessary mark-to-market reporting
  • Analyze domestic and international NGL/LPG market fundamentals, infrastructure developments, and arbitrage opportunities to inform commercial decisions
  • Negotiation of new agreements or renegotiation of existing agreements
  • Become an expert on existing agreements to ensure compliance with pricing, measurement, commitments and other contract provisions
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate volume and other key commercial data
  • Works with all areas of the company to analyze and disseminate market information to senior management, financial, legal, and operational departments
  • Active involvement with internal departments (i.e. Division Operations, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Credit) and external customers (i.e. Pipelines, Processors, Gatherers, Marketers, Refiners, and other key Customers)
  • Provides economic and market area evaluations to ensure production flows timely and to the highest netback markets
  • Develop and/or maintain models used in the support of ongoing Midstream and Marketing department needs
  • Stay abreast of key trends and market conditions for respective areas of focus; communicate to internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and present executive level material on a regular basis regarding key business projects, strategic recommendations, market conditions
  • Assist with various projects and other duties assigned by managers
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Skilled in negotiating commercial contracts and interpreting deal structures involving price formulas, fees, and optionality
  • Experience with NGL exports, including coordination of marine cargoes, terminal operations, and familiarity with global LPG and ethane market dynamics
  • Project management from inception to execution
  • Experience in Commercial Development, Deal Structure and Negotiations
  • Ability to lead and work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to interpret contracts and proposals and translate into financial models
  • Able to work successfully in an office environment with moderate to heavy daily pressure to meet deadlines
  • Effective and efficient oral and written communication skills
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related field, engineering or energy management preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience (energy related)
  • MBA a plus
  • Ability to travel
