Position is REMOTE

This person will be JERA Americas lead specialist on PJM regulatory matters. The role will represent JERA Americas at PJM Committees, PJM industry associations, PJM-related consultants, and with other PJM stakeholders. The role will be responsible for reporting to internal personnel (Operations, Legal, Commercial and Development) on matters and market issues in PJM. As our lead advocate for PJM, this person will also get input from the relevant personnel on proposed rules and/or policies in the PJM footprint and develop our advocacy strategy.

Position Description

Essential Functions

  1. Advise internal stakeholders regarding current/pending regulations, agency/industry initiatives to ensure regulatory strategy is in alignment with company objectives.
  2. Represent JERA Americas at relevant PJM Committees.
  3. Provide regular reports to JERA Americas personnel about relevant market rule and policy deliberations.
  4. Lead efforts to develop advocacy strategies that support JERA America’s positions on PJM rules.
  5. Develop and execute comprehensive regulatory strategies aligned with business goals.
  6. Participate in the activities of our Trade Association, P3.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships in PJM and in PJM states that are beneficial to JERA America’s business, develop outreach plans for key external collaborators and regulators.
  8. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Legal, Operations, Finance, and Compliance, to ensure alignment on regulatory matters and support business initiatives.
  9. Cultivate positive relationships with regulatory authorities, industry partners, and other stakeholders to influence regulatory outcomes and advance the company's interests.
  10. Support Compliance Team’s efforts to ensure adherence to PJM rules, standards, and protocols, including participation in the preparation of compliance filings and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  11. Monitor regulatory developments, propose policy positions, and advocate for the company's interests before regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, or public policy.
  2. 5 to 10 years of regulatory experience within PJM.
  3. In-depth knowledge of PJM rules, protocols, and regulatory processes.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Prior work in an ISO or regulatory agency.
  2. Experience in SPP, MISO, and/or ERCOT also a plus.
