The Director, Major and Planned Giving leads Mercy Health Foundation’s individual giving program, with responsibility for annual giving, major gifts, grateful patient and clinician engagement, and planned giving. This role develops strategies to grow individual giving, build strong donor relationships, and achieve fundraising goals in support of Mercy’s priorities and campaigns.
Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer/Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the position joins a robust team of development professionals committed to advancing Mercy’s philanthropic mission.
Mercy is at a pivotal moment as the Foundation continues the public phase of its 150th Anniversary Campaign, Mercy Forever: Building on the Legacy, while beginning to plan for what comes next. In this important period, the Director will help shape individual giving strategies, advance campaign priorities, and build philanthropic support for Mercy’s future.
The role includes management of a portfolio of major and planned gift prospects and donors, along with close collaboration with Foundation leadership, clinicians, hospital leaders, volunteers, and colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. The Director also provides strategic oversight of Mercy’s annual giving program and supervises a development officer, title to be determined, responsible for its day-to-day management and execution.
