Job summary

Vast seeks a Director, Lunar Programs to lead NASA-focused business development for lunar and cislunar initiatives, reporting to the Chief Policy Officer. You will drive customer engagement, opportunity development, capture strategy, and partnerships to advance Vast's in-space infrastructure.

This full-time, exempt role can be based in Long Beach, CA, Houston, TX, or Washington, D.C., with up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, business, or related field.
• 8+ years of agency business development, capture management or government contracting experience.
• Deep understanding of procurement: IDIQ, OTA, FFP, CPFF, Space Act Agreements.
• Excellent communication, analytical and collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate complex systems to government audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop NASA lunar market strategy aligned with Vast's revenue goals.
• Collaborate with Leadership, Engineering, Policy and Government Relations, Marketing, Legal, and others.
• Coordinate lunar briefings to support strategic planning and NASA engagement.
• Lead internal planning for NASA lunar opportunities prioritization and capture.
• Lead customer engagement across opportunity identification and concept development.
• Identify NASA use cases for Vast lunar systems and partnerships.
• Monitor NASA budget requests and congressional actions affecting lunar programs.
