Job summary

Playwright Co in Greenville, SC seeks a Director of Production to oversee all technical aspects of the Production Department, including backstage operations, equipment maintenance, and building a strong production team through recruiting, training, and evaluating staff. The role directs and facilitates production for shows, performances and events at The Peace Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in live theater production.
• 5 Years supervisory experience related to production.
• College degree in related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Lead a strong, effective, and efficient Production team.
• Liaison between The Peace Center and contracted stagehand provider.
• Advance and negotiate technical riders with touring companies.
• Develop and maintain a sustainable Preventative Maintenance Program for theatrical systems and equipment.
• Oversee the project management of the department's capital improvement projects.
