Job summary

KBR is seeking a Director of Legal Operations to lead the global legal function's budget, forecasting, and technology initiatives. The role partners with the General Counsel and leadership to ensure efficient, cost-effective, scalable delivery of legal services aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or a related function, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing direct reports, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional project teams.
• Strong understanding of in-house legal department operations, including matter management, contract workflows, legal spend, reporting, and stakeholder service models.
• Deep expertise in e-discovery tools and processes and cloud data environments.
• Strong working knowledge of e-discovery regulations and data privacy requirements.
• Experience managing legal department budgets and outside counsel management.
• Experience implementing or optimizing legal technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and set priorities with General Counsel and legal leadership.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Manage outside counsel, vendor relationships, and billing guidelines.
• Oversee global e-discovery and data management programs.
• Drive process improvements and standardization across legal operations.
• Develop and govern the legal technology roadmap and AI initiatives.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of legal operations professionals.
