Job summary

Nscale, a leader in AI cloud infrastructure, seeks a Director, Legal – Critical Infrastructure, US to own the contracting lifecycle for US data center campuses. You will negotiate owner-contractor, EPC, and design‑build agreements, draft consultant contracts, and coordinate with finance, real estate, energy, and operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will manage complex risk allocation, run parallel high‑value contracts, and provide clear guidance to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction and infrastructure legal experience, in-house or at top firms.
• Strong track record negotiating major EPC, design‑build, and equipment agreements.
• Fluency in construction risk allocation including warranties, delay remedies and indemnity.
• Confident first‑chair negotiator capable of managing multiple high‑value contracts.
• Ability to explain complex risk to non‑lawyers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation of owner-contractor, EPC, and design‑build agreements for US data center campus construction.
• Draft and negotiate design and consultancy agreements with architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Negotiate supply, installation, and O&M agreements for on-site power generation and equipment.
• Coordinate with site acquisition, ground leases, and power procurement with regulatory teams.
• Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks; drive standard positions across projects.
• Manage US outside counsel, including scope, budgets, and quality of advice.
