Job summary

Ladders seeks a Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting to shape and execute a focused recruitment strategy for lateral partners across key practice areas. You will partner with firm leadership to identify growth opportunities, evaluate top candidates, and strengthen competitive position in a selective legal market.

Based in Boston, MA, this is a full-time, on-site leadership role requiring 10+ years in legal recruiting and a deep understanding of partnership structures. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years in legal recruiting or related leadership roles.
• Significant experience recruiting lateral partners or practice groups.
• Strong grasp of law firm partnership structures and compensation systems.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive lateral partner recruitment strategy.
• Drive the full lifecycle recruitment process for lateral partners and practice groups.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities.
• Proactively source and maintain relationships with high-performing partner candidates.
• Monitor legal market trends and advise on expansion opportunities.
• Lead candidate evaluation efforts and coordinate internal diligence processes.
