Job summary

Cowley County is seeking a Community Corrections / Juvenile Services Director to oversee Adult Community Corrections, Juvenile Services, and related boards. Primary duties include budget and grant management, policy development, and staff supervision across youth and adult services.

The Director will coordinate with the State DOC, JCAB, CCAB, and BOCC, ensuring compliance, reporting, and program improvement. Five years of admin/leader experience is expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of juvenile justice court system, state laws and procedures that pertain to the division and ability to interpret social laws.
• Knowledge of county budgeting system and administrative practices.
• Grant writing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison between BOCC, JCAB, CCAB and DOC.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of youth services and community corrections; interviews and hires staff; plans, assigns work; evaluates staff performance.
• Prepares budgets and grants related to all agency funding; monitors program metrics and reporting.
• Develops policy and strategic planning with county leadership and boards.
• Supervises all full and part-time adult and youth services employees.
• Ensures staff training and compliance with standards.
