Job summary

Methodist Hospitals is seeking a Director of IT Applications to lead strategy, implementation, and ongoing support of clinical and business application systems across our hospital network. You will oversee Epic ambulatory and revenue cycle modules, manage a team of application analysts, and collaborate with finance, compliance, and operations to translate needs into effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Health Informatics, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive IT experience in healthcare or hospital setting, including 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing application teams.
• Experience with major EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, MEDITECH) is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CPHIMS, CHCIO) are required; EPIC Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, implementation, and ongoing support of clinical and business application systems across our network of hospitals and clinics.
• Oversee the EHR platform and integrated modules, along with revenue cycle, ambulatory, and other clinical and business applications.
• Manage a team of application analysts and partner with CIO on governance, vendor selection, and budget.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical applications; establish SLAs and change management processes.
• Develop and manage IT Applications operating and capital budget; vendor relationships and licensing to maximize value.
