Job summary

AAA Mountain West Group seeks a Director, Investments and Treasury to lead the strategic oversight of the company’s investment portfolio, cash management, and capital markets activities. This role directs a team of treasury and investment professionals and partners with internal stakeholders and external financial partners in Walnut Creek, CA.

The candidate will optimize liquidity, drive returns on assets, manage risk, and ensure efficient capital allocation while reporting to senior executives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive treasury and investment experience.
• 6+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency with treasury management systems (TMS), Bloomberg, and other financial software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investment management for the Club’s externally-managed portfolio in line with Investment Portfolio guidelines.
• Monitor portfolio performance and rebalance assets as needed; provide reports to senior management.
• Evaluate and select external investment managers, consultants and custodians; oversee performance and compliance.
• Oversee daily cash management operations: cash positioning, forecasting, and short-term investing.
• Drive working capital optimization to maximize liquidity and minimize financing costs.

JOB SUMMARY

Our Director, Investments and Treasury is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the company's investment portfolio, cash management, and capital markets activities. This individual will develop and execute strategies to optimize liquidity, generate returns on corporate assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure the efficient allocation of capital. The Director will lead a team of treasury and investment professionals, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships with external financial partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Investment Management

• Oversee the investment of funds in the Club’s externally-managed portfolio to ensure compliance with the approved Investment Portfolio guidelines.
• Monitor portfolio performance, rebalance assets as needed, and provide regular reporting to senior management and relevant committees.
• Evaluate and select external investment managers, consultants, and custodians, overseeing their performance and ensuring adherence to investment guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant investment policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Treasury Operations & Cash Management

• Oversee daily cash management operations, including cash positioning, forecasting, and short-term investing.
• Optimize working capital management to maximize liquidity and minimize financing costs.
• Manage banking relationships, negotiate banking services agreements, and ensure efficient banking infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls over cash and banking activities to safeguard company assets.
• Drive continuous improvement in treasury processes and systems, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain relationships with banks and other capital market participants
• Support capital structure optimization initiatives, including debt issuance

Strategic Planning & Collaboration:

• Contribute to the development of the company's overall financial strategy, providing expert insights on investments, treasury, and capital markets.
• Prepare and present regular reports and presentations to the CFO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors on treasury and investment matters.

• Deep expertise in financial markets, investment strategies, risk management techniques, and capital markets.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in treasury and investment.
• 6+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency with treasury management systems (TMS), Bloomberg, and other financial software.

Preferred Qualifications

• TP (Certified Treasury Professional) or equivalent certification a plus.
• MBA or advanced degree

We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $190,750.00 - Mid: $238,437.00
