Job summary

Five9 is seeking a Director of Internal Communications to own strategy and execution of employee communications. This leader will shape the end-to-end internal communications approach, including the calendar, channel stack, and critical announcements, working across People, Legal, Investor Relations, and the broader Communications team.

The role focuses on high-stakes moments like reorganizations, leadership changes, and strategic pivots, while building processes, templates, and escalation paths

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle sensitive organizational announcements.
• Experience developing editorial calendars and all-hands content.
• Ability to influence without direct authority across People, Legal, Investor Relations, and broader Communications teams.
• Knowledge of localization and time-zone standards for global employees.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal communications strategy, calendar, and message architecture to keep employees informed and connected to the company’s direction.
• Lead governance of the channel stack and budget for intranet, email, and messaging platforms.
• Arbitrate sequencing and volume of communications for company-wide vs. function messages.
• Own communication for significant change events (reorgs, leadership changes, pivots, workforce actions) and integration updates.
• Draft and manage announcements with clear workflows, timing, and escalation routes.
• Develop manager enablement materials, talking points, and briefings to support leaders before announcements.
