Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries seeks a Director of Programs & Services to provide strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for a portfolio of community-based programs designed to strengthen families, support youth, and promote stability.

Led from the Community Impact & Investment team, the Director will translate strategy into program delivery, build partnerships, and establish systems for performance measurement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in social work, human services, public administration, nonprofit management, education or related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in human services, community programs or nonprofit management.
• At least three years supervising managers or multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience overseeing multiple programs, funding sources or service locations.
• Experience managing program budgets, grants, contracts and performance expectations.
• Experience using data to manage performance and improve services.
• Experience developing partnerships with public agencies, nonprofits, schools, funders or other community institutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for family support, youth, volunteer, housing and childcare programs.
• Translate priorities into annual program plans, targets and strategies.
• Develop integrated service delivery connecting clients to resources.
• Identify service gaps and opportunities to expand programs.
• Lead program development and partnerships to advance the organization’s mission.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure high-quality services.
• Establish program standards, workflows, eligibility, and referral procedures.
• Monitor capacity, demand, and staff workloads.
• Lead data-driven performance reviews and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, supervise and develop program managers and staff.
• Manage annual program budgets and ensure funding compliance.
• Ensure compliance with laws, contracts and donor requirements.
• Build and sustain community partnerships and external relations.
• Prepare program updates for leadership and Board.
