Job summary

Inhabit is seeking a Senior Director, Technical Product - Insurance to guide the next generation of insurance technology capabilities across the division. You will translate operational needs into clear product direction and partner with engineering, data, and business leadership to improve speed, accuracy, scalability, and UX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, business, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical product management, product ownership, product analysis, business systems analysis, or a related technology delivery role.
• Proven ability to lead product work for SaaS platforms, internal business applications, customer-facing tools, policy systems, or other enterprise tech solutions.
• Experience using modern product and AI-assisted development tools, including Aha! for roadmap planning, prioritization, and requirements management, and Cursor for prototyping and collaboration with engineering.
• Experience building product plans, managing delivery priorities, and working with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into usable technology outcomes.
• Strong understanding of software delivery practices and Agile ways of working, including backlog management, refinement, sprint planning, and release coordination.
• Ability to write clear product requirements that explain the problem, outcomes, user impact, scope, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Comfortable working with technical teams on integrations, data movement, APIs, environments, and production support.
• Strong insurance business acumen, familiarity with policy administration processes, underwriting workflows, and regulatory considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze information from multiple sources to make sound product decisions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills to build alignment across business and technical groups.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Set product direction for assigned insurance technology platforms by translating goals and feedback into an actionable plan.
• Maintain a view of near-term priorities and longer-term platform needs balancing growth with stability and compliance.
• Partner with leaders to understand workflows, evaluate options, and recommend solutions that improve the business.
• Lead discovery and intake by gathering input from users and stakeholders to identify value.
• Convert business needs into delivery-ready requirements with scope and acceptance criteria.
• Manage the product backlog with disciplined prioritization for meaningful outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, UX, analytics, and operations to evaluate feasibility and unblock work.
• Facilitate decision-making when priorities conflict and ensure clear roadmaps.
• Communicate priorities and status to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leverage AI to optimize delivery workflows and bring AI innovation to client experiences.
• Use performance data to assess impact and iterate as needed.
• Support release planning with communications, training inputs, and validation needs.
• Guide pilots and phased rollouts to refine requirements and reduce risk.
• Partner with business areas to align on technology changes and workflows.
• Promote adoption through collaboration with leadership, support teams, and end users.
