Job summary

Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis seeks a strategic Associate Director of Development, Institutional Giving, to lead foundation, corporate, and government fundraising efforts.

The role builds prospects, writes proposals, and manages a portfolio of donors, guiding annual and long-range funding plans.

The position reports to senior leadership, collaborates with board, and drives stewardship activities to sustain CTC's mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a professional fundraising or related field.
  • Experience in foundation, corporate, and government fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and solicit prospective foundation, corporate foundation, and government gifts to CTC’s annual fund.
  • Develop annual fundraising and strategic goals for foundation, corporate, and government grants and sponsorships.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate, government and foundation prospects and donors with strategies and timely communications.
  • Lead the development and execution of government, foundation and corporate grants.
  • Collaborate with CTC leadership staff and partner organizations to identify candidates for CTC’s Board of Governors.
  • Monitor industry trends and opportunities; advise leadership with strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor and report progress toward institutional fundraising goals.
  • Engage board members and staff in donor prospecting and solicitation activities.
  • Prepare budgets and program descriptions for use by the development office and theatre.
  • Participate in major events like Curtain Call Ball and other stewardship activities.
