Job summary

NC State University seeks a Director of Industry Engagement & Career Development to lead a student-centered career ecosystem within the College of Sciences. The role partners with faculty, employers, alumni, and industry leaders to weave career readiness into the undergraduate and graduate experience.

The director will expand internships and experiential learning, strengthen graduate pathways, and align initiatives with university priorities, reporting to the Associate Dean for College Success

Qualifications

• Post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree with equivalent professional training.
• Strong written and verbal communication; audience-appropriate messaging.
• Ability to build productive relationships and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience mentoring or advising students or employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic career services innovations across the College of Sciences.
• Provide individualized career coaching and professional development programs.
• Develop employer, alumni, and industry partnerships for internships and opportunities.
• Oversee program operations, budgeting, assessment, and reporting.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to integrate career readiness.
• Advance student recruitment, retention, and post-graduation outcomes.
