Job summary

Match Group, a global leader in dating products, seeks a Director of Indirect Tax to lead US sales and use tax, VAT, and DST for the company and affiliates. This role focuses on compliance, planning, and strategic tax initiatives within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will manage cross-border indirect tax compliance, develop robust controls, and partner with legal, treasury, and accounting to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of indirect tax experience (US & VAT)
• Proficient in technical research and audit-ready documentation
• Experience mentoring staff and leading teams
• Desire to learn and implement AI-bolstered solutions
• Strong communication of complex tax concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• B.S. in Accounting or Finance required
• Experience with Workday, Vertex, and OneSource is preferred

The Director, Indirect Tax will assist with the preparation, planning, execution, and management of Match Group’s indirect global tax strategy, compliance, and lead ongoing or anticipated tax controversy.

• You will be primarily responsible for managing US sales and use tax, VAT, and DST for the company and its affiliates, including compliance, research, and business support
• You will manage all global indirect tax compliance and reporting by teaming with internal and external partners
• You will develop and maintain robust internal controls around key indirect tax processes and systems
• You will drive operational excellence across core activities and provide operational insight, including implementation of process efficiency and technology initiatives
• You will act as the subject matter expert in supporting business initiatives from an indirect tax perspective.
• You will proactively monitor and act on global indirect tax developments to ensure compliance with changing laws and regulations

• You have 10+ years of indirect tax experience, both US & VAT, with a deep understanding of indirect tax systems and laws (ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and in-house tax experience)
• You are proficient in performing technical research and preparing audit-ready documentation of conclusions reached
• You have an understanding and desire to learn and implement AI-bolstered solutions
• You have experience managing people with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop professional staff as well as work in a team-oriented environment
• You are highly self-motivated and directed
• You can communicate ideas in both technical and non-technical language
• You have a B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance
• You have Workday, Vertex, and OneSource experience (strongly preferred)

• In this role you will report to the VP, Tax Planning & Controversy
• The team is incredibly collaborative and resourceful both within the tax department and with cross-department stakeholders (legal, treasury, accounting, planning, human resources)
