Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) in Massachusetts is seeking a Director-in-Training for the Metro North market. This developmental leadership role prepares you for a future Director role through hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured training.

You’ll build relationships with employers, support a team’s development, and engage with individuals we serve to help achieve employment goals while meeting market needs and pursuing growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a team lead, supervisor, program manager, or similar role.
  • Genuine interest in human services and working with people with disabilities.
  • Desire to grow into a people-leading, community-focused leadership role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with diverse individuals.
  • Comfort working in the community and juggling multiple priorities.
  • Well versed using technology and systems to stay organized.
  • Clear sense of purpose and excitement about helping others achieve success.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the local community (mileage reimbursed).

We are seeking a Director-in-Training for our Metro North area market. This role is ideal for someone with early leadership or program management experience who is passionate about human services and eager to grow into a Director-level role through training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience.

About the Director-in-Training Role

This is a developmental leadership position designed to prepare you for a future Director role. This role is best suited for someone who is energized by mission-driven work and genuinely motivated by supporting people with diverse abilities.

What You’ll Learn and Do
