We have an opportunity at our Chicago office for a Director II Treasury on our Finance team. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office each week.

This position, in collaboration with the VP Treasurer, directs the cash management, investment, credit, and collection functions of the Treasury area, focusing on maximizing earnings and safeguarding assets in the investment portfolios.

Responsibilities:
Investments & Treasury Functions
  • Oversee administration, accounting, and budgeting for investment activities of the AMA, its defined benefit and contribution plans, and affiliated entities, managing portfolios over $1 billion.
  • Manage investment performance reporting for the AMA and Deferred Compensation, in collaboration with the Corporate Treasurer.
  • Build relationships with banks and investment advisors, including those managing the AMA's investment portfolios and 401(k) plan.
  • Oversee cash management and treasury functions to maximize investment revenues through effective cash handling and bank service utilization.
  • Review AMA contracts for appropriate terms and compliance with policies.
Financial Policies & Operations
  • Develop credit policies to protect the organization while enabling prudent expansion.
  • Advise the Corporate Treasurer on financial policies, business analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for the Board Finance Committee, including investment and reserve policy reviews.
Staff Management
  • Lead, mentor, evaluate, and develop staff across disciplines, fostering collaboration and growth.
  • Set objectives and priorities for projects and teams.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of treasury experience; experience in corporate and for-profit settings preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in people management, with skills in training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Deep expertise in cash and investment management is crucial.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, capital markets, treasury operations, and debt management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to present to leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Limited travel required.

This exempt role offers a salary range of $176,000 to $234,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Employees are eligible for an incentive plan. For more details on benefits, please click here.
