Job summary

SpaceX in Memphis is seeking a Director, Datacenter Operations to lead the engineering and operations of xAI’s hyperscale AI compute facilities. You will own the full lifecycle of mission-critical infrastructure—from design and development through construction, commissioning, and operations—including power, cooling, fiber networks, and controls.

You will build and lead multidisciplinary teams, drive technical strategy and operational excellence, and ensure reliability and scalability for AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 8+ years in production/military/industrial/data center.
• 4+ years of direct people leadership experience managing engineering/operations teams.
• Deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and fiber networks.

Responsibilities

• Own the operations and performance of the physical infrastructure for data centers and compute facilities.
• Build and lead operations teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, and power generation areas.
• Set and maintain standards for uptime, efficiency, and reliability.
• Run day-to-day facility operations and manage budgets and vendor relationships.
