Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this influential leader will oversee the full spectrum of Human Resources and Employee Health Services, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, leadership development, workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and employee health services.

What Success Looks Like

The Monadnock Community Hospital Director of Human Resources and Employee Health Services is a visible, collaborative, trusted leader and MCH ambassador who helps create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work. Through strong partnerships and innovative people practices, this role contributes directly to workforce stability, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and exceptional patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with executive and operational leaders to align workforce strategies with organizational goals and patient care priorities, providing coaching and talent expertise to strengthen and support leader actions and strategies across MCH.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, performance, accountability, employee wellbeing and organizational culture.
  • Support the development and implementation of workforce and succession planning strategies.
  • Foster a workplace culture built on respect, collaboration, inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide collaborative, strategic leadership in support of our expanding employee health services practice.

Talent Management

  • Direct recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, and workforce development activities.
  • Lead performance management & merit processes that support employee growth, recognition, and organizational excellence.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify strategic talent needs and create development plans for current and future leaders.
  • Promote coaching, mentoring, and leadership development across all levels of the organization.

Employee Relations, Employment Law & Culture

  • Provide guidance and counsel to leaders regarding employee relations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, advanced employment law, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant employment practices.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and facilitate action planning based on employee feedback to continue to strengthen MCH culture.
  • Serve as an advocate for a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.

Total Rewards & Compliance

  • Oversee design and implement compensation administration and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, accreditation standards, and healthcare workforce regulations.
  • Support HR policy development and ongoing process improvement.

HRIS Administration

  • Oversee and support HRIS system functions and implementation of HRIS upgrades.
  • Support the implementation of EDI file tables, workflows and processes.

Employee Health Services

  • Provide leadership direction to expanding Employee Health Services functions, scope and the EHS team.
  • Support and maintain an ongoing, collaborative relationship between EHS and the Employee Benefits team specifically.

Operational Excellence

  • Utilize data and workforce metrics to inform decision-making and assess organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and service delivery.
  • Lead and develop HR and Employee Health Services team members while fostering MCH culture of excellent customer service, effective collaboration, and shared expertise.

Working Hours:

Qualifications
Education
Required

Bachelors or better.

Preferred

Masters or better.

Experience
Required

Demonstrated success leading organizational culture, employee engagement, talent management, total rewards administration, and leadership development initiatives.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources leadership experience supporting and strengthening team collaboration and service delivery.

Preferred

SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification preferred.

Experience in healthcare strongly preferred; rural healthcare or critical access hospital experience is highly desirable.
