The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will collaborate with executive and departmental leadership to co-create and execute organizational and talent strategies that drive business outcomes. This role offers strategic consultation and thought leadership to anticipate, develop, and implement proactive business and HR solutions aligned with enterprise objectives.
Key areas of responsibility include talent strategy, organizational design, workforce planning, analytics, and employee engagement. The Director will leverage data and insights to inform recommendations and lead a team of HR professionals providing strategic HR partnership and employee relations support to designated client groups across the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of people strategies aligned to business goals, promoting growth and performance transformation.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to support long-term business growth.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure competitive and effective recruitment and onboarding practices.
- Collaborate across HR Centers of Expertise (COEs) and the People Leadership Team to drive change management and enterprise communications.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team, delivering strategic people programs and ensuring HR policy compliance.
- Champion a high-performance culture that reflects organizational values and fosters inclusion, learning, and belonging.
- Act as a key advocate for hybrid workplace engagement, supporting diverse team models (remote, in-office, hybrid).
- Co-develop HR policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook with the CHRO to ensure legal compliance and organizational relevance.
- Apply ethical judgment in employee relations and business practices, proactively managing and escalating issues when necessary.
- Oversee key aspects of the HR lifecycle (e.g., performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, talent development).
- Use data and analytics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and guide strategic action.
- Provide leadership coaching and introduce tools and frameworks to support organizational effectiveness through change.
- Develop scalable, data-driven HR plans for assigned business areas, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
- Lead strategic talent management initiatives including workforce forecasting, talent movement planning, and leadership capability development.
- Guide change initiatives through design and execution, including structure changes, culture programs, and training rollouts.
- Collaborate with leaders to design organizational structures that enable strategic goals, and adjust designs as needed.
- Enhance leadership and manager effectiveness through programming, performance metrics, and targeted interventions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership of HR teams in mid-sized or high-growth organizations.
- Deep understanding of HR best practices across multiple disciplines (e.g., talent management, compensation, performance).
- Knowledge of multi-state employment law and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale organizational and cultural change initiatives.
- Strong consultative and coaching capabilities with a proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- High level of business acumen and ability to translate business needs into effective HR strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with comfort presenting to executive audiences.
- Experience using data and analytics to drive insight, forecast trends, and guide decision-making.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to operate effectively in cross-functional teams and matrixed organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms, preferably Workday.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
