University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Florida seeks a Director of Hospital Safety to develop, implement and monitor safety programs, including Environment of Care and Life Safety plans across UF Health Jacksonville campus.

The role leads safety initiatives, collaborates with executives, ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards, and oversees disaster preparedness; requires BS degree, 5+ years leadership, and 3+ years EOAC chair experience.

• 3+ years of experience in Joint Commission Environment of Care standards.
• 5+ years in a leadership position in a large healthcare organization.
• 3+ years as Chairman or Co-Chair of an Environment of Care Committee.

We are currently seeking a Director of Hospital Safety. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring safety programs and initiatives for UF Health Gainesville campus. Responsible for the management of the Environment of Care (EOC) Safety and Life Safety Plans in order to minimize hazards and reduce risk of injury to patients, visitors, and staff. Oversees the Disaster Preparedness Emergency Program for the organization.

Qualifications

Required Education:

BS Degree

Preferred Education:

Master's Business Administration or Master's Healthcare Administration

Necessary Skills: Proven leadership skills. Able to lead and influence individuals outside of the Safety department. Ability to collaborate with leaders in different areas. Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills. 3+ years of experience in Joint Commission Environment of Care standards. 5+ years in a leadership position in a large healthcare organization. Preferred Experience: 3+ years of experience as Chairman or Co-Chair of an Environment of Care Committee.
