Job summary

Temple University Health Sciences Campus (HSC) seeks a Director of Maintenance and Operations to lead Facilities Management, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage the mechanical and building trade functions across hospital and university properties.

Reporting to the AVP, you will direct teams handling steam, chilled water, electrical, and life-safety systems, develop preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate with safety and hospital administration to meet accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent in a closely related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a similar healthcare environment is required.
• Competency to comply with regulatory requirements in a healthcare facility (e.g., TJC, CMS, DOH).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance, modification and preservation of the physical plant, systems and grounds.
• Oversee mechanical and building trades including engineering, BAS, plumbing, electrical, fire/security, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ensure all systems are in operating order and compliant with governing standards and regulations.
• Plan, organize and direct maintenance and repair of campus buildings and utility systems.
• Ensure readiness for accreditation and regulatory reviews with appropriate documentation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with administrators, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
