Job summary

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford seeks a Director of Construction to lead large and complex construction programs for Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. You will oversee planning, staffing, budgeting, and risk management while coordinating with executive leadership to align projects with the hospital’s strategic plan.

You will collaborate with contractors, design professionals, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant delivery and optimal resource use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Licensure/Certification: None Required

Responsibilities

• Contributes to and executes functional strategy for construction projects ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
• Provides strategic input and oversees large-scale construction implementation projects end to end.
• Partners with stakeholders to ensure capital projects align with organizational goals and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
• Prepares and analyzes budget, approves programs, and manages department budget and expenses.
• Negotiates contracts with outside vendors/contractors and manages relations and performance.
• Directs design, construction and related professional service providers and reviews master schedules.
• Participates in regularly scheduled management meetings and design/implementation of information systems
