The University of California San Diego seeks an internationally recognized leader in data sciences to serve as Director of the Halcolu Data Science Institute (HDSI). The Director will propel HDSI into its next phase of growth, leveraging the institute’s resources to advance high‑impact research and graduate education.
The appointment will be to a tenured full professorship with an initial three‑year term and up to two renewals. The Director will report to the Dean of the Halcolu School of Data Science and Computing and will be responsible for strategic direction, academic programs, and operational management of a unit comprising 53 faculty, 17 staff, and 1,600 students with an approximate budget of $12 M.
