Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk seeks a Guidewire Architect to lead design and deployment of Guidewire solutions across Policy, Billing, and Claims. You will establish governance, align architecture with cloud roadmaps, and champion modernization initiatives while mentoring developers and collaborating with senior technology and business leaders.

You will drive architecture priorities, define target state and roadmaps, and communicate directions to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with enterprise

Qualifications

• Architecture experience with Guidewire platform
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud, Policy Center, Billing Center and Claim Center
• Mentored developers and led architecture initiatives
• Experience in agile operating model and architectural governance
• Defined target state technology architecture and roadmaps
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership in technology decisions
• Insurance technology domain expertise
• Depth in AWS, APIs, DevSecOps, and cloud accelerators
• Cloud certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) preferred or strong cloud background
• Strong security awareness and large-scale platform experience

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of Guidewire solutions (Policy, Billing, Claims) using best practices
• Establish governance and control processes for Guidewire implementations
• Align Guidewire architecture with cloud roadmap and enterprise strategy
• Provide architecture leadership within Technology Architecture modernization initiatives
• Collaborate with senior leadership to set architecture priorities
• Demonstrate thought leadership in modern architecture and technology modernization
• Prototype new technology solutions as needed
• Define target state architecture and roadmaps; ensure IT initiatives align
• Communicate architectural direction to stakeholders and translate into plans
• Attract, recruit, and optimize talent for Guidewire initiatives
• Improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Guidewire platform

As a Guidewire Architect within our architecture organization, you will collaborate with senior Technology and Business leaders and apply your broad Guidewire architecture experience by helping to support a strategic Guidewire initiative. You will provide consulting and be a champion for helping to establish Guidewire architecture practices that will help align capabilities within Guidewire to fit the needs of our business groups.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of Guidewire solutions (Policy, Billing and Claims) leveraging best practices and architectural principles.
• Help to establish governance and control processes to ensure successful and healthy Guidewire implementations
• Demonstrate a strong passion for following and sharing Guidewire's Cloud roadmap and highlight opportunities and challenges to complement our initiatives
• Architecture responsibility within a major segment of Technology Architecture in support of the Architecture Modernization
• Works with the Senior leadership within Technology and Business to develop architecture priorities and direction to enable business imperatives
• Displays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernization driving continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt
• Hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions
• Defines target state technology architecture and roadmaps
• Ensures alignment of IT initiatives with the target state
• Prepares and delivers comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategy
• Optimizes talent strategy to ensure proper mix of resources and attracts and recruits best talent
• Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Guidewire platform
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Architecture experience
• Previous experience with Guidewire Cloud, Policy Center, Billing Center and Claim Center
• Provided mentorship to developers
• Organizational and transformational experience in an agile operating model
• Establishes strategic technology direction and architecture vision for an organization
• Strong proven Software Engineering experience
• Developed technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goals
• Proven track record of influencing senior leadership
• Insurance technology experience
• Current deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps
• Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud would be preferred
• Good understanding of security
• Experienced with large scale technology platforms

Work Environment

• Hybrid (3 days onsite per week in Blue Bell, PA)
