Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, seeks a Director of Corporate Development Finance to lead finance for strategic growth initiatives. You will build deal models, supervise a team of analysts, and partner with deal champions to shape M&A and BD strategies while presenting findings to senior executives.

Role requires extensive experience in medical devices, strong valuation and modeling skills, and onsite work in Sunnyvale, CA with periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years in medical device-focused corporate development, investment banking, equity research, buy-side, or VC.
• 10+ years leading deal teams and developing M&A models, due diligence, and valuation perspectives.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate growth opportunities and strategic fit for corporate development initiatives.
• Lead a team of managers and analysts supporting M&A/BD deals.
• Collaborate with deal champions to assess markets, technologies, and organizational fit.
• Diligence areas impacting valuation and transaction structure for deals.
• Develop financial models and valuation analyses for acquisitions, licenses, and joint ventures.
• Present deal structures and value drivers to executives and boards.
• Coordinate with business unit and finance leaders to translate models into operational processes.
• Prepare board-level materials and track ROI on external investments.
