Job summary

TCG is seeking a Director of Government Operations to lead a portfolio of federal contracts, ensuring performance, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will guide project managers, collaborate with business development, and manage financial health across programs.

Required US citizenship and ability to obtain a federal clearance; DC-area onsite presence two days weekly. Bachelor's in a related field and PMP/Agile certs are expected. Competitive salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• US citizenship & ability to pass a federal clearance.
• 12+ years of project management with a minimum of 3 years of program and contract management experience with both FFP and T&M contracts.
• Experience working with business development on RFP and RFI responses.
• Knowledge of information technology issues and processes.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients to define activities and resolve issues.
• Proven ability to communicate within and across teams.
• Proven success in revenue generation and organic growth.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to frame issues to reassure clients and maintain poise at senior levels.
• Leadership to guide teams and avoid information gaps.
• Creativity and responsibility in large initiatives, with independent work.
• Excellent time management and juggling multiple tasks under deadlines.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Scrum Master and/or Agile certification.
• Experience in Project/Program Leadership, Technical Consulting, Staff Management, Strategic Planning, and Performance Management.
• Outstanding organizational and resource management skills.
• Strong technology background with analytical and systems thinking.
• Ability to discuss technology solutions with non-technologists with savvy framing.
• Experience reporting to and building relationships with senior government executives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program activities to ensure contract performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance with standards.
• Act as relationship manager for clients, handling escalations, risks, and project issues while maintaining profitability.
• Oversee contract budgets, forecasts, P&L objectives, and revenue opportunities; analyze variances and take corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate risks at customer and contract levels.
• Ensure adherence to compliance and performance standards; manage subcontractor relationships.
• Coach and mentor staff; promote culture, succession planning, and strategic decision-making.
• Stay updated with industry knowledge through learning and networking.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategies; develop partnerships and expand client base.
• Enhance personal capabilities and advocate for the company's competencies.
