Job summary

Met Council in New York seeks a Director of Government Grants to lead strategy for securing local, state, and federal government funding. You will oversee grant proposals, reporting, and compliance, working with program, finance, and legal teams to align opportunities with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years grant writing experience in the social services not-for-profit sector, preferably in New York.
• Demonstrated success securing government grants at local, state, and/or federal levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and government grant portals.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for securing competitive and capital government grant revenue at local, state, and federal levels.
• Oversee development, writing, and submission of competitive government grant applications.
• Manage post-award reporting and compliance, including workplans, budgets, amendments, and progress reports.
• Coordinate with program, finance, and legal staff and supervise Grants Associates.
• Maintain grant records and implement best practices for efficiency and compliance.
