Rivel is seeking an accomplished ESG Consultant to join as Director, Governance and Sustainability in a fully remote or hybrid capacity, if local to Westport, CT.

As an ESG Consultant, you will lead client relationships and support them by advising on governance and sustainability strategies, initiatives, and disclosures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage client relationships and advise on governance and sustainability strategies, initiatives, disclosures, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to team members, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Produce ESG/sustainability reports aligned with best practices and reporting frameworks.
  • Advise on climate-related financial disclosures and emerging regulations, including CSRD.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects, business growth, thought leadership, and company objectives.
  • Present to C-suite executives and Boards of Directors.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate sustainability and ESG consulting.
  • Management experience with leadership skills to mentor and guide teams.
  • Experience with corporate issuer and communications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EU/international regulations and climate risk assessments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and disclosure platforms.
  • Experience with annual sustainability disclosures.
  • Understanding stakeholder perceptions and expectations regarding governance and sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, organization, and project management aligned with Rivel's values.

The base salary range is $135,000 to $165,000, adjusted based on various factors including experience and location.
