Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a strategic Director of Trade Compliance to lead its global trade compliance and export control program. The role serves as the EO for U.S. export controls and ensures shipments, data transfers, and international collaboration comply with applicable laws.

The candidate will establish a global compliance organization, define governance, and provide executive-level risk posture insights while balancing regulatory rigor with operational efficiency for growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of export controls experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
• Expertise in EAR, ITAR, and OFAC; strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS.

Responsibilities

• Lead global trade compliance organization including staffing and development.
• Own EAR/ITAR jurisdiction determinations and ECCN/USML classification guidance.
• Oversee export licensing strategy and compliance with BIS, DDTC, ITAR, EAR and related regulations.
• Embed export controls into product lifecycle and engineering processes.
