Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a Director for the International Student/Scholar Office to provide vision and leadership over immigration advising, visas, sponsored students, and exchange programs. Qualifications

• Master’s in international education or related field plus 5 years in ISSO or similar role with non-immigrant regulations.
• Three years’ experience leading effective teams.
• Knowledge of best practices supporting international students and scholars.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Experience developing immigration policies and employment issues for international students.
• Ability to manage complex issues and competing priorities.
• Experience working with international students, faculty, staff and alumni.
• SEVIS and student information systems experience.
• Active involvement with NAFSA or similar associations.
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident per SEVIS/DSO requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, oversight, and leadership to the ISSO and its programs.
• Serve as UNL’s PDSO and RO, overseeing SEVIS-based student and scholar programs.
• Oversee training and support of DSOs and AROs on campus.
• Direct administrative leadership of ISSO operations, budgets, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal immigration regulations and university policy.
