Job summary

Hyperfine, Inc. seeks a Director, People to lead the People function for a publicly traded health tech company. The role covers the full employee lifecycle for the U.S. and international teams, supervising a small People team and partnering with senior leaders.

The position focuses on payroll, benefits, equity administration, compliance, and scalable programs. On-site in Palo Alto, occasional travel is expected; compensation includes bonus and equity plans.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HR leadership experience across business partnership, employee relations and operations.
• Strategic advisor with hands-on leadership in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong executive presence and ability to partner with senior leaders.
• Knowledge of U.S. employment practices, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
• Experience with payroll, HR operations, data, vendors, and communications.
• Data-informed, proactive, and capable of scalable People programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the People function and set strategy while delivering day-to-day operations.
• Oversee lifecycle HR activities for U.S., UK and Europe including onboarding and offboarding.
• Partner with leaders on workforce plans, engagement, and organizational design.
• Manage payroll, benefits, leave, data, reporting, vendor management and compliance.
• Contribute to compensation, leveling, equity administration, and communications.
• Support international employees via EOR coordination and cross-border processes.
• Strengthen programs, tools, and communications for scalable People practices.
• Utilize HR systems and data to improve processes and reporting for leadership.
