Job summary

AMD is seeking a Director of Patent Litigation to lead a defensive litigation team across U.S. federal courts and ITC, coordinating with outside counsel and internal teams to develop robust strategies.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, strategic leadership, and hands‑on management of multiple matters in line with AMD’s objectives. The ideal candidate will have a JD, a technical degree preferred, and substantial semiconductor patent litigation experience in a fast‑paced technology company.

Qualifications

• JD license to practice law in a U.S. state.
• Technical degree (EE/CE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee U.S. federal court, ITC and foreign patent litigation matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on strategy, discovery, motions, expert development and trial prep.
• Lead preparation and review of infringement and non‑infringement charts with technical teams.
• Assess risk and develop litigation strategies aligned with AMD business objectives.
• Lead settlement negotiations when appropriate.
