The Director, Global Medical Publications will support Otsuka in leading and developing a scientific communication strategy for publications and congresses. The role involves working closely with Global Medical Affairs Teams, Clinical Teams, Global Value & Real-World Evidence Teams, and Publications Management Specialists to plan and execute publication activities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the Strategic Publication Planning Group (SPPG) meetings to compile insights for scientific communication platforms, lexicons, and global publication plans.
  • Managing the Scientific Communication Platform and Lexicons for assigned compounds.
  • Developing and executing global publication plans with the publication planning team and PWGs.
  • Driving communication strategies with medical and clinical teams, ensuring regional alignment.
  • Building relationships with external authors and engaging in publication activities.
  • Providing updates to cross-functional teams on publication activities.
  • Facilitating congress presentations and external publication content development.
  • Supporting engagement with the external medical community and digital communications.
  • Collaborating on content for educational sites and strategic planning for congresses.
  • Managing publication vendors, budgets, and operational activities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years in healthcare/pharmaceutical sector, with 5+ years in Medical Affairs or Scientific Publications.
  • Master's degree in Science required; PhD or PharmD preferred.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing a team.
  • Experience in CNS, Nephrology, or Rare Diseases is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of Datavision and iEnvision modules preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in scientific/healthcare field (PharmD, PhD, MS).
  • ISMPP CMPP designation preferred.

Additional details:

Salary range: $183,335 - $274,160 plus incentives. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), paid holidays, and more. Travel up to 20%.
