Job summary

University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, seeks a Director of Business Development for WRDS to drive global market expansion and strategic deals. This role leads cross-functional teams, negotiates enterprise contracts, and manages relationships with data vendors to position WRDS as the premier research data platform for scholars worldwide.

Philadelphia-based with a strong focus on international growth. The role reports to Academic Affairs and collaborates with CX, Marketing, and Revenue

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience leading business development or market-facing initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end global sales to expand WRDS adoption in international universities and corporate sectors.
Negotiate complex enterprise contracts and present high-level technical value propositions.
Coordinate across CX, Marketing and Sales, and Revenue Management for international teams.
Manage relationships with ~60 data vendors and explore new markets.
Oversee Salesforce CRM operations, revenue forecasting, and data integrity.
