Key Responsibilities :

The Director, Global Benefits is responsible for ensuring that World Vision’s global benefits programs are aligned with business objectives, meet legal requirements, and achieve a balance between being externally competitive, meeting employee needs, and managing internal costs within the annual budget. This leader oversees the global benefits strategy, including developing, implementing, administering, and maintaining benefits programs, policies, and procedures across the World Vision International employee population, including full responsibility for US and International Assignees (IAs) employee plans and supplemental plans in the UK.

The leader collaborates with decentralized Regional and National offices to ensure benefits meet the World Vision Health and Welfare Minimum Standards (HWMS). They also coordinate with the Global Insurance team to operationalize global insurance plans worldwide. An advisory role involves educating and establishing programs to help offices secure cost-effective and comprehensive health, welfare, and retirement benefits.

Key responsibilities :
  • Engage with P&C benefit responsible parties to design and align global benefits strategy with People & Culture initiatives.
  • Build and maintain governance models to foster agreement, commitment, and accountability.
  • Contribute to the design and updates of the Total Rewards Strategy, providing insights on health & welfare programs.
  • Develop communication strategies to ensure benefits are understood and valued by employees.
  • Manage a team of 2-3 employees, participating in daily operations during peak times like Open Enrollment in the US.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and colleagues on benefits topics across the organization.
  • Maintain relationships with P&C benefit partners, conduct training, and co-create solutions across regions and functions.
  • Share best practices and educate teams to deliver effective, cost-efficient programs in various locations.
  • Ensure adherence to HWMS and regional scorecards for benefits provision.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including RFP processes, contract reviews, negotiations, and tracking SLAs and ROI.
  • Implement highly competitive benefits at optimal costs to attract and retain talent globally.
  • Oversee workload delegation, open enrollment, benefits delivery, and compliance with regulations like ACA and HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with providers to deliver engaging wellness programs and set up Shared Services Centers for benefits administration support.
  • Support wellness initiatives, employee engagement, and health improvement strategies.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting benefits, especially in the US, to mitigate risks.
  • Lead projects to develop tools for automating benefits management and education.
  • Oversee benefits participation reporting, employee satisfaction, and ROI analysis.
  • Integrate external tools with payroll and HCM systems, maximizing system use.
  • Manage the global benefits budget, including cost monitoring, vendor negotiations, and cross-charges.
  • Ensure timely payments, transparent communication, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Participate in regulatory responses and fiduciary management of pension funds.
  • Support relocation, long-term assignments, and insurance programs in non-US locations.
  • Set strategies for paid time off and leave policies, participate in benefits surveys, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Global benefits certification or equivalent.
  • 10+ years in global benefits within a multinational organization.
  • At least 5 years of experience with US benefit programs and managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of global benefit laws, compliance, and regulations.
  • Excellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to interact with leadership.
  • Innovative, detail-oriented, with project management and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business case development.
  • Reputation as a mentor and partner, sharing best practices.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%, ability to work remotely.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

  • HR certifications like PHR, SPHR.
  • Experience with Workday Benefits Module.

If filled in the US, the salary range is $98,645 to $123,305 USD, based on market factors, qualifications, and location.
