Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Scientific Program Director who provides high-level scientific, regulatory, and operational leadership for sponsored research programs within the department.

The role partners with PIs, faculty, staff, and external collaborators to manage complex initiatives from proposal development through execution and reporting. A strong genetics/neuroscience/molecular biology background and excellent organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with strong background in biomedical research administration.
• Experience supporting NIH-funded or sponsored research programs.
• Ability to develop and submit regulatory documentation and progress reports.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrative and scientific contact for multiple research programs and multi-investigator studies.
• Coordinate timelines, milestones, deliverables, and reporting for federal and nonfederal research programs.
• Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and track action items for committees and reviews.
• Collaborate with MSIP to coordinate collaborations across departments and external partners.
• Assist in preparation and submission of grant applications and RPPRs.
• Maintain regulatory documentation (IRB, IACUC, biosafety) and ensure compliance with regulations.
