Job description

Director Fund / Client Accounting

Location: Lake Mary, FL.

Responsibilities

• Direct a Fund Accounting area consisting of multiple teams responsible for accounting services including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
• Manage financial and human resources for the unit, ensuring teams operate effectively to meet goals and objectives.
• Set guidelines for determining net asset value (NAV) across various fund sectors and promote consistency across product areas.
• Oversee client relationship management, ensuring service levels meet client needs and resolving client issues.
• Participate in sales efforts including RFP and RFI preparation and presentations.
• Provide oversight and guidance on financial statement disclosures and resolve complex escalated issues.
• Lead analysis of GAAP and/or IFRS rules to assess regulatory impacts and develop compliance policies.
• Set guidelines and priorities for drafting financial reports and communicate complex accounting details to clients.
• Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff to maximize individual and team performance.
• Manage relationships with senior auditors and clients to ensure accurate financial reporting and fund performance depiction.
• Oversee multiple Fund/Client Accounting teams through subordinate managers and contribute to achieving team objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7-10 years of total work experience with at least 3-5 years in management preferred.
• Experience in fund accounting and client relationship management.
• Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
• Proven people leadership skills with ability to recruit, develop, and motivate teams.
