Job summary

Capital One Shopping seeks a Director, Full-stack Engineer to lead multiple product-focused software teams in a remote-first environment. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and champion scalable, cloud-based architectures across microservices and data-driven platforms.

You will shape high-impact features, stay current with tech trends, and guide the engineering community while delivering reliable, secure, and maintainable software across AWS deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of people management experience.
• At least 7 years in software engineering and enterprise architecture, cloud, and data architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
• Mentor the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.
• Work with product managers to understand desired capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Continuously improve software engineering practices.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support cross-stack solutions across a full-stack toolset.
• Lead availability, resilience and scalability of solutions.
• Adopt and mentor cutting-edge technologies and communities; foster diversity and teamwork.
• Drive cross-team velocity and deploy applications into AWS environments.
• Break monoliths into microservices and build new microservices.
