Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Atlanta seeks a Director to lead Project Development for process and packaging systems. You will direct front-end planning for manufacturing-focused capital investments, coordinating a team of experts to deliver executable solutions and robust front-end outputs.

You will drive client relationships, manage project plans and budgets, and mentor staff while collaborating with commercial teams to win work.

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading development and design of process and packaging systems.
• Leadership to grow local and regional clients.
• Design of GMP manufacturing and distribution facilities.
• Supply chain concepts in manufacturing/warehousing.
• Structured pursuit and stage-gate processes in multi-discipline design environments.
• Greenfield and brownfield facility development with code knowledge.
• Strong communication and willingness to travel.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end programming, planning, schematic design, and FEED packages for process and packaging systems in CPG facilities.
• Serve as Development Lead on pursuit teams, guiding through stage-gate reviews to project kickoff.
• Provide client and technical leadership in capital projects for food, beverage, and CPG clients.
• Develop facility and supply chain engineering solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Lead project development including plans, resourcing, budgets, and schedules.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and knowledge of industry standards.
• Lead client proposals, presentations, and qualification efforts.
• Mentor technical and planning professionals within the firm.
