Corel is seeking a Director of FP&A to own planning, forecasting and topline explanations. You will oversee weekly billings forecasts, build an annual operating plan by product and translate product and sales data into clear recommendations for the executive team, Board, and private‑equity sponsor.

This hands-on leadership role requires building AI-assisted workflows, strong Excel modeling, and collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Product leaders.

Qualificações

• 10+ years in FP&A, sales finance or corporate finance with mentoring experience.
• Experience in software/SaaS or subscription businesses with ownership of billings or revenue forecasting and topline KPIs.
• Proven hands-on experience using Claude or similar AI assistants in daily finance work.
• Track record building AI-assisted workflows that improve time/quality; provide 2–3 examples.
• Good judgment on AI limits: validate outputs against sources and avoid misapplication.
• Expert financial modelling in Excel with large, driver-based models.
• Strong understanding of billings vs. revenue, deferred revenue and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Clear written and spoken communication, with experience presenting to executives and Boards.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.

• Automate reporting by replacing manual spreadsheets.
• Document models, calendars and controls for knowledge transfer.
• Partner with Sales/Marketing/Product leaders and provide ROI and payback analysis.
• Support close timing, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and accrual accuracy.
• Start as senior IC with potential to lead analysts; build backup coverage.
• Support ad-hoc projects: audits, financing, cost programs and M&A.

The Role

Corel builds productivity and creativity software, including CorelDRAW, WinZip and Parallels, sold to individuals and businesses around the world through direct, e-commerce and partner channels. As Director of FP&A, reporting to the CFO, you will own how Corel plans, forecasts and explains its topline. You will run the weekly billings forecast, build the annual operating plan by product, and turn product and sales data into clear recommendations for the executive team, the Board and our private-equity sponsor.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will set direction, own the revenue model, and still roll up your sleeves to rebuild a forecast or reconcile a number when it matters.

What You'll Do

Board & executive reporting

• Prepare the topline and KPI sections of the monthly operating review and quarterly Board materials.
• Build and maintain a product-level KPI scorecard: a trimmed view for monthly reviews and a detailed view for the Board.
• Lead variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, with clear explanations of what drove each gap.
• Respond to CFO, Board and sponsor requests quickly and accurately.

Planning systems & data

• Lead FP&A's side of planning system work (currently Planful): requirements, data validation, revenue and allocation models, and user training.
• Work with Data and IT to bring Snowflake and NetSuite data into planning and reporting, with clean, reconciled feeds.
• Replace manual spreadsheets with repeatable, automated reporting.
• Document models, planning calendars and controls so knowledge doesn't sit with one person.

Business partnership

• Act as the finance partner to Sales, Marketing and product leaders, joining their reviews and challenging assumptions.
• Support investment cases for marketing campaigns, product launches and headcount, with ROI and payback analysis.
• Partner with Accounting on close timing, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and accrual accuracy.

Team & leadership

• Start as a senior individual contributor, with the option to lead up to two analysts as the function grows.
• Build backup coverage for critical models and processes.
• Support ad‑hoc projects such as audits, financing, cost programs and M&A.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 10+ years in FP&A, sales finance or corporate finance, with experience managing or mentoring analysts.
• Experience in software, SaaS or subscription businesses, with direct ownership of billings or revenue forecasting and topline KPIs.
• Proven, hands‑on experience using Claude or similar AI assistants (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) in daily finance work, not just casual use.
• A track record of building AI‑assisted workflows that saved real time or improved quality. Be ready to show 2–3 examples.
• Good judgment on AI limits: you check outputs, tie them back to source and know when not to use AI.
• Expert financial modelling in Excel; comfortable with large, linked, driver‑based models.
• Strong grasp of billings vs. revenue, deferred revenue and software revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Clear written and spoken communication, including presenting to executives and Boards.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.

Preferred

• Experience with NetSuite (ERP), including GL structure, saved searches and reporting.
• Experience with Snowflake, including writing SQL to pull and join billings, customer and product data.
• Advanced Claude use: Projects, connectors, skills, artifacts or Claude in Excel, or the Claude API.
• Light scripting (Python or similar) to automate data prep and reporting.
• Experience leading AI adoption or training for a finance team.
• Experience implementing or administering a planning tool (Planful, Adaptive, Anaplan or similar).
• BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience in a private‑equity‑backed company, including sponsor and lender reporting.
• CPA, CFA or MBA.
